How to Study Physics and Exam Techniques8/18/2017 I came across an article from Whelan and Hodgson's "Essential Principles of Physics", a book which I used back in the 1970's. It was an excellent book for Physics study. The attached article has notes on: Learning Physics, Revision and Examination Technique and is from the University of Toronto. For revision, you really need to plan and schedule the available time that you have. Use a calendar which you can mark with your required work(study) to be done. Check with your syllabus that you have covered all the required points. I liked the part that says to "Read ALL the questions CAREFULLY at the start of the exam." I have done this and can tell you that it works. Your subconscious mind can work only on something that you have seen. For quantitative problems, read the question carefully and summarize the question, stating the given variables and their units. Do the numerical computation on the symbols till the last step before you substitute values. This way you can still get marks if you make a numerical error. Also, you can easily check your work. Remember to state the units used. The other tips are excellent and I hope you get something out of it. ![]()
